The Assertive Professional role plays
1. You are not happy with a report filed by your licensor about how you track kids coming and going from your center.
2. You have to tell a parent they need to pay their fees by Friday or they will be asked to leave.
3. You have to call the county to get paid for a child that was at your center and you need to collect your fees from them.
4. The parent is mad that their child came home with paint on their clothes.
5. You have a parent that wants to bring in their child that appears to be too ill to participate in your program.
6. You have to talk to your director about the amount of money you are being paid for overtime. You believe you should get time and a half and you are only making your standard rate for work over 40 hours/week.
7. You have a co-teacher that just sits around and does little work.
8. You have a co-teacher that hit a child.
9. You have a co-teacher that does not seem to bring in work that you both agreed the co-teacher would do.
10. You have a co-teacher that is a big ‘Negative Nelly’.
11. You have a co-teacher who is a big gossip.
12. You are an infant teacher and a parent is accusing you of not properly caring for their child.
13. You have a preschooler’s parent that does not believe that you have properly prepared their child for Kindergarten
14. You have a toddler parent that does not think you should start potty training.
15. You have a parent that only wants their child to eat healthy food. They are upset with the food choices at your center.
16. You have a family that does not want their child to celebrate Halloween. It is not a part of their family culture and your center has a fun celebration every year.
