Inc., serving Calumet, Outagamie and Waupaca Counties. CCRR is a community
based non-profit agency that works with parents, child care providers,
employers and the community to help promote the availability of quality
child care services.

WECA
is a statewide, nonprofit organization serving
as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin’s
children, aged birth to eight. We are an affiliate of the National
Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Wisconsin Child
Care Research Partnership - Early Education Matters
- This link reports on the results of 2 years of funding and activities of
this organization. The Wisconsin Child Care Research Partnership conducts
ongoing research that helps answer the question: What is the quality of
child care in Wisconsin? Organizations in 21 Wisconsin communities received
up to $10,000 each to initiate collaborative, community-based 4-year-old
kindergarten program from WCCF. The grants were used in communities planning
to develop community-based, collaborative 4-year-old kindergarten. Grant
funds covered start-up costs including feasibility studies, program planning
and modeling, early learning standards training, location planning,
consensus building, site visits, public awareness activities, and community
surveys.
Wisconsin Council on Children and Families
- The Wisconsin Council on
Children and Families, Inc. is a nonprofit, multi-issue child and family
advocacy agency. Headquartered in Madison, the Council's mission is to
promote the well-being of children and families in Wisconsin by advocating
for effective and efficient health, education, and human service delivery
systems. WCCF accomplishes this through educational conferences; on-going
projects like W-2 Watch
(Wisconsin's Welfare Reform),
Wisconsin Budget Project,
and Great Beginnings
(our early childhood brain development initiative); and
publications like
the WisKids Count Data Books and Juvenile Justice Pipeline.

Trends, Research in the Service of Children -
Child Trends
is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research organization dedicated to improving the
lives of children by conducting research and providing science-based
information to improve the decisions, programs, and policies that affect
children and their families. In advancing its mission, Child Trends
collects and analyzes data; conducts, synthesizes, and disseminates
research; designs and evaluates programs; and develops and tests promising
approaches to research in the field.

Tiny Tummies
offers a bimonthly newsletter, by subscription,
with lots of great information on feeding children and helping them learn
about food and nutrition.
Wisconsin Child Nutrition Programs & On-line Services
- responsible for a variety of nutrition
education initiatives that involve collaboration with other state agencies,
UW-Extension, and regional and statewide child nutrition advocacy groups.
Pre-K Now.
Pre-K Now is a public education and
advocacy organization that advances high-quality, voluntary pre-kindergarten
for all three and four year olds. Supported by The Pew Charitable Trusts and
other funders and a project of the Institute for Educational Leadership,
Pre-K Now:
* supports state-based children's advocates;
* educates policymakers about the need for pre-k; and
* raises public awareness about the need for pre-k for all children.
Pre-K Now is a trusted resource for policy information and a strong partner
for pre-k advocacy.
Economic Development and Early Childhood
Describes the relationship between early care and education and economic
development in Wisconsin. Defines the economic sector, describes potential
roles for employers and provides some insight into the relationship between
early learning and workforce development. January 2006.

CED's EARLY
EDUCATION PROJECT (Committee for Economic Development) -
Since the 2002 release of its groundbreaking
early education report, Preschool for All: Investing in a
Productive and Just Society, CED has been engaged in an
aggressive national campaign to build momentum surrounding investment in
early education. The report calls for free, high quality preschool education
for all children age 3 and over who have not yet entered kindergarten.
