Last Meeting Report & Minutes

Current Business:
Tammy Brooks has been putting together a data base for all those members that are renewing and/or joining this year. Remember--Memberships were due for renewal by March 31, 2006. Everyone who pays their $20 membership fee for 2006 will receive a certificate that shows membership. You must pay your yearly fee or you will be billed a fee of $10 for each meeting you attend.
We need your email in order to get you a copy of the minutes and upcoming meeting reminders! This really helps out with postage costs and helps to keep our membership dues at $20 per year.
All are invited to view the wonderful web site Gary has been working so hard at putting together! The name of the site has been changed from WeCareForChildren.com to region4.wccaa.com. This is a wonderful new tool for our region! Thank you, Gary, for all your hard work!!
Some delegates for WCCAA Region IV introduced themselves and gave a brief update of what being a delegate is about. The delegates from our region present were Ann Potter, Mary Motquin, Barb Carlson and WCCAA Secretary Mary Madsen.
We viewed our current newsletter and did a brief evaluation of it. All newsletters can be found on the website. Check it out!! Thanks to Gary and Laura Shallow for all their hard work in putting the newsletters together. They are looking for more volunteers to help them out, so if this is an area in which you could participate PLEASE let them know you are willing to help.
Gary updated us on his progress of putting together our group’s first regional conference. This will require a lot of time and effort. Please contact Gary to help!
Deb Komp was introduced as our speaker for the main topic of our day, “Marketing Your Child Care Program”. Deb is the Manager of Childcare Services for ThedaCare, Inc. and Director of ThedaCare Child Learning Center. Deb did a wonderful job and gave us many, many great ideas. Thank you Deb!! Those of you who missed our meeting really missed out! We received handouts and ideas galore.
Our next regional meeting will be May 10 beginning at 1:00 and ending at 3:00. Buffet Lunch & networking begins at 12:00. The first 10 who arrive will receive a door prize for a free full buffet. For everyone else, the buffet is only $8.95 (drinks are extra). The topic is Kindergarten Readiness & Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards! We will be meeting at our new Appleton location, the Main Event at 1727 Freedom Road off Exit N in Little Chute (please see website for directions). You can RSVP on our website at region4.wccaa.com.
